Sony has announced an exciting lineup of games for PS Plus subscribers from October 3rd to November 6th, 2023. Subscribers with Essential, Extra, and Premium memberships will have the opportunity to add The Callisto Protocol, Farming Simulator 22, and Weird West to their gaming libraries. But don’t forget, you still have until October 2nd to claim September’s titles, Saints Row, Black Desert – Traveler Edition, and Generation Zero.
The Callisto Protocol
Developed by Striking Distance Studios, The Callisto Protocol is a narrative-driven survival horror game that follows in the footsteps of the iconic Dead Space series. Set in the year 2320, the game transports players to Calisto, a desolate moon of Jupiter housing Iron Black, a maximum-security prison operated by the powerful United Jupiter Company. Jacob Lee, our protagonist, finds himself incarcerated in this prison when a series of inmates begin transforming into grotesque creatures, unleashing chaos within the facility. To survive, Jacob must escape the prison, encountering various characters and uncovering the dark secrets lurking beneath Calisto’s surface.
It’s worth noting the striking resemblance between The Callisto Protocol and Dead Space, and this is no coincidence. Both games share the creative genius of Glen Schofield, who not only led the development of Dead Space but also managed Visceral Games, a studio that Electronic Arts ultimately closed. Despite its promising premise and the initial enthusiasm it generated, The Callisto Protocol fell short of expectations from both the press and players. In a surprising turn of events, Glen Schofield is no longer part of Striking Distance Studios.
Farming Simulator 22
For those who prefer farming over escaping from terrifying creatures, Farming Simulator 22 offers a realistic farming experience. In this simulator, players can build and manage their own farms, engaging in various agricultural, forestry, and livestock activities while facing the challenges of changing seasons. To establish a thriving agricultural empire, you’ll need the right machinery, and Farming Simulator 22 grants access to over 400 machines and tools from more than 100 real-world brands like John Deere, New Holland, Valtra, Case IH, CLAAS, and Fendt.
Lastly, there’s Weird West, an action RPG set in a dark and reimagined Wild West where lawmen and gunslingers share the frontier with fantastical creatures. Directed by Raphaël Colantonio, the founder of Arkane Studios (known for Dishonored and Prey), players take on the roles of different characters whose stories unfold based on the decisions they make.
October promises to be an exciting month for PS Plus subscribers, offering a diverse range of gaming experiences from survival horror and farming simulation to the intriguing world of the Wild West. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to add these titles to your gaming collection!
