Activision Blizzard: When Will Its Games Come to Xbox Game Pass?
On January 18, 2022, Microsoft announced the acquisition of Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion. This acquisition, one of the largest in the history of the video game industry, resulted in the addition of a catalog of over 30 studios and franchises to Xbox Game Studios, including Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Diablo, Crash Bandicoot, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater.
It’s awesome to see anticipation building for Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® III. As we continue to work toward regulatory approval of the Microsoft deal, we’ve been getting some questions whether our upcoming and recently launched games will be available via Game Pass.
Since then, Xbox fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of these games to Xbox Game Pass. However, the date for the addition of Activision Blizzard titles to Microsoft’s subscription service has not yet been officially announced.
In a statement released in January 2022, Microsoft confirmed that Activision Blizzard games would be included in Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass, both new releases and titles from the current catalog. However, the company also noted that some games could be subject to existing contractual agreements, which could delay their arrival to the service.
Taking these factors into account, it is likely that Activision Blizzard games will begin to arrive on Xbox Game Pass starting in 2024. However, it is possible that some titles, such as new Call of Duty, will not arrive on the service until 2024.
As for the specific date for the addition of Activision Blizzard games to Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft has not yet made any official announcement. However, it is possible that the company will make an announcement in the coming months, coinciding with the release of a major title from the company.
